What is it rated "M" for? I've been thinking about pre-ordering it, but I don't want to get a game that I'd just have to turn around and sell.

Despite the rating, there will be also at least Moderate Language, as seen in the videos they have shown.

Sex Scene confirmed in Mass Effect from British rating board. There was a sex scene in Indigo Prophecy that was cut out for the American release and the same could be said here, I don't know. Here's the story:

For Luinnar on Jade Empire, I mean the kissing which can turn into homosexual kissing but can be entirely avoided. I wasn't implying a sex scene in Jade Empire, to clear that up.

As I have said many times, we do not feature "sex" in Mass Effect. We do have romance options that play out, in my opinion, similar to materials you would see on a day time soap opera. Nothing graphic, just a little suggestive.

Kind of what I was expecting after seeing shirtless Shepard kissing Ashely in the X07 Video and the ESRB rating. I don't think it would be rated 12up if they shown anything.

I wish they would not have a female/female romance option.

That would be your adept , an Asari(sp) whose race female only (actually thats how other races see them, seeing how they are only one gender, they reproduce asexually). Males can romance her as well I suppose.

Word of warning, there are 149 new screenshots going around that were not released by Bioware, but by people with preview copies. They contain some spoilers, as well as some fairly graphic female Shepard same sex romance scenes.

Um, do you suppose I can figure out where the sex scene is and skip it? I know on some games you can't skip scenes, or do you suppose it could be avoided? if not I won't be able to get it.

I would skip the romances, that would be Ashley and the Asari...forgot her name, Laria or something for males and Kaiden and Laria for females. I don't know if it is anywhere else in the game however.

Edit: Thats just my educated guess for the romance partners, but I'm pretty sure thats right.

Uh yeah, just avoid any romancing in the game. Pretty easy to do. Just don't get involved with anybody. The beauty of BioWare's game is that you can be a great leader and everybody loves you or you can be a self centered jerk who doesn't care about anybody. If you want to be a self centered jerk, then you'll definitely avoid any love scenes. You can be a good guy even, just avoid or turn down any advances by anybody seeking a relationship. That's all there is too it. They wouldn't include a sex scene for all to see it. It's a sub plot as things of that nature should be.

Ah, good. I guess I really have no idea what the game is going to be like, exept the part that it's an RPG, and lots of people are excited about it.

IGN has a video up of the "sex" scene you may encounter in the game. This is PG material here. There isn't even kissing. Here's a lowdown, watch it for yourself but I realize some may not believe me since I'm a BioWare fan and may be protecting them, hence no link. The alien chick tells the female Shepard that she would like to repay her somehow. You have a scene in which sex may be implied but all you see are their heads. Once again, there isn't even kissing. You can tell they aren't wearing any tops unless said tops don't have shoulder straps and are doing some kind of Japanese breast binding thing. You then see a Titanic style hand going up and sliding down. That's it and I expect that no other scene in the game would push over that. I don't know and frankly, I don't care. I'm still getting it but just a heads up for you guys.

Also, I meant no crudeness, I speak it how it is. If any of my words offended you, I'm sorry.

I confirm what Phazon says. Thankfully, they didn't try to be super "edgy" or anything with Mass Effect. They make it a possible plot element, nothing more. Props to Bioware.

Are we sure this is the scene people have been talking about? I heard that a scene might include partial nudity and like Phazon said, this was relatively tame.

Supposedly the "partial nudity" is that sometimes in the game you can see the sides of a woman's chest and there is some bar dancers in skimpy costumes.

Kmart reportedly breaks Mass Effect street date

Theres a new romance scene on Gamevideos called Love Scene or something like that. It show Female Shepard & Laria's (I think) romance and it is much more detailed then the IGN one. It show them standing up kissing and then then they are kissing unclothed (you can see the female Shepard's backside). Theres a little more too it than that, but it cuts out before they really do anything. After the blackout you can pick some dialog choices (female Shepard is clothed at this point).

I know it is probably skipable, but I really don't like that Bioware has something like this in the game.

It looks like Gamevideos yanked it... not sure if that means they censored it and that scene is no longer included, or if it's something else...

Yeah looks like they took it off. Supposedly it is on youtube though, if you want to know what your getting into. I won't post the link obviously.
