I just beat ME2 for a second time, this time getting everyone loyal and getting the No One Left Behind Achievement. All that's left is to do a playthough on insanity, which I am not sure if I will or not.

I did Insanity on ME1 and it was a significantly more satisfying experience than playing the normal modes. You will die a lot, but these are not cheap deaths. They're your fault, and you have to figure out a new strategy to outsmart/outflank/outeverything the enemy. You'll be doing a lot more strategic ally placement on the battlefield, holding them back so that you can lead the enemy into an ambush, etc. Once you settle on a winning strategy, things become a lot more enjoyable than they ever were. I highly recommend it!

Yeah, my 40 run was taking my time the first playthrough on Veteran, and my 30 was on Hardcore. After I'm done with my first run through Bioshock 2, I'm going to start my Insanity soldier run.

Hammerhead gameplay has been released, and a new heavy weapon, the Arc Projector, is now available through the Cerberus Network.

Both look fun. I hope they announce the release date of the hammerhead soon!

New paid download coming to PC/Xbox April 6th:

Quote

March 11, 2010 - We've seen a number of downloadable content releases so far for BioWare's Mass Effect 2, and we're told the next will cost you real dollars. No word yet on exactly how expensive it'll be since BioWare's still figuring it out, but it does come along with a number of new items and story bits. The content should be ready to go on April 6 for Xbox 360 and PC.

One of the main attractions of the download is Kasumi, a stealthy female fighter who you can meet up with in the Citadel. After getting her attention and talking to her about the task she wants you to do, she'll become a member of your party. So after you're all done, she'll take up residence on your ship. You can walk into her room, examine all the cool paintings she has on the wall, and fix yourself a drink at the bar. Like Zaeed, another added character through downloadable content, you can't actually engage in full conversation with her, she just talks at you as you wander around her room.

With a dark hook, black eyes, and a cloaking ability, Kasumi is an intimidating character. In battle, she can also pull off the Mass Effect equivalent of a rogue backstab, as she cloaks, moves behind a target, then reappears and whacks the foe in the back of its head with your omni-tool. She'll also offer the ability to toss out flashbangs as a loyalty bonus, and during the mission you'll get a fancy new gun.

You'll be able to access the content regardless of where you are in the game – whether you're halfway through the story or finished. In all we're told it'll take about one hour and a half to complete, and according to BioWare plays out a little like a James Bond mission. First you infiltrate and mingle with the enemy, then you start shooting. Kasumi will fill you in on the mission details on the Citadel, and then you fly off to the location of the target's mansion, which turns out to be fairly lavish.

I won't spoil any of the specifics, but the plot does at one point involve Michelangelo's David. The setting itself looked impressive, as the interior of the mansion looked out over grassy fields, a large expanse of water, and a city in the distance under a clear, sunny sky. Within the residence were a number of elaborate paintings, bookshelves, and other fancy features as guests of the target's party wandered around in formal wear, clinking glasses as piano music played in the background.

Once the fighting breaks out, expect things to get quite hectic as Shepard and Kasumi battle against a number of formidable foes, some of which will lob flashbangs your way. Assuming the price is right, this could be a nice addition for fans of BioWare's sci-fi RPG.

Don't think this is hammerhead, sounds like a content pack. Sounds fun!

$5 sounds about right for this. Even then, I might wait until a sale.

Yeah, the costumes are pretty ridiculous, but at least it's not the other way around with Firewalker costing money and the costumes being free.

Fire walker(free) and Horse Armor AKA Costume Pack ($2) are out.

The DLC character that is coming in April is going to be $7, which seems a little pricey to me.

Yeah, I agree that is a little much if it is the same length as the Zaeed DLC...but, I'm sure I will buy it

Mass Effect action figures are coming in September. These are WAY overpriced ($24 US!) but I can admire them on my computer screen for free. They have Shepard, Thane, Tali, and Grunt. I like the Grunt one best, but I wish it was Wrex instead.

Right, so...

I'm dumb for not playing this consistently earlier and you can feel free to shoot me in the leg. I dig ME2.

I'm going through my first play through of ME 2 as a Paragon Infiltrator is my hopes... Loving it so far, great game. Probably better than the first so far.

I love the variety the classes give you. I'm not usually a "charge in and kill everyone" type of player, but I adored being a Vanguard. Also got tremendous satisfaction of the Infiltrator.

I'm glad you admit your stupidity!!! Yeah what Link said is the best. Save Tali and jack for last. Don't tick of tali, and if you can get your paragon or renegade up high enough you can win back any unloyal members anyway.

Beat Mass Effect 2, lots of fun and interesting story. I'm excited for part three eventually. Kinda confused on what happened and such, and I guess I chose to continue but if I'm going to play through it again I would use a different character probably. Anyways, great game nonetheless.

So yeah, I was skeptical about ME2. I thought it wouldn't be the same game and just be a shooter. Well, I was right, it's just a shooter, but it's a real fun one. So yeah, I really enjoy it so far. I don't really like how everything has been dumbed down in terms of stats and equipment but I do like space exploration a lot more. I really like scanning and launching probes, it's satisfying for some reason.

Also, that opening sequence, wow. Just wow.

I seem to be one of the few people who didn't have a problem with exploration and resource mining. I found it strangely addicting, and got pretty good at it.

It got a little tedious, and really how much difference does it make unless you are on the hardest mode? Just felt like some filler.
