Regarding Validating Members: It's been something of a crazy week for me, but I've now finished going through the nearly 4-day old list. Out of the 18 people on the list, only 4 got through -- so that should tell you guys something about our registration stats... Just in case you were wondering. If there are any questions, direct them to the admins -- g2g "dot" admins "at" gmail
Thanks for the patience. We don't usually let the VM list get back-logged like that, but sometimes it happens: usually during paper writing season, exam season, and fire season.

Regarding the skin change:
We were hacked tonight. Thankfully it was nothing too malicious, and bertuzzifan alerted me to it quickly enough for me to "reverse" the damage and get the forums back online... However, our normally default G2G skin is looking pretty screwy, and I'm not entirely sure how to fix it. Since I didn't want you guys to be without a hangout location until I figured it out, I'm turning the boards back online with the old IPB skin. I'm sorry, but it'll have to do for now.

We have changed the wording in The Rules.
What used to merely say this: "Description or discussion of sex, sexual acts, or human anatomy in a sexual context is categorically forbidden."
Now says this:
"Description or discussion of sex, sexual acts, or human anatomy in a sexual context is categorically forbidden. In addition, crude commentary in the discussion of sexual content in games or films or books is also forbidden. As we strive to keep this forum family friendly (realizing that on occasion mature subjects come up for discussion as a course of life), we do realize that content discussions do come up, but such things can be discussed in a general nature and without the commentary."
Please make note of this and reread the whole bit if you need to do so.

Then Rexman64 came along and, well... He came kinda close, we guess.
*cough*
Ahem.
Indeed.
A time and a season for everything, and this is one of those times in G2G's history wherein one of our moderators leaves the staff. Rex has decided that it's time for him to leave his post, and for the above reason we are very sorry to see him leave. Fortunately for us, however, he's not leaving the boards -- just his post. (There's a pun there... somewhere...) So this is the official announcement that we are now a slightly diminished administrative staff as a result.
No, we're not taking applications. So don't ask. ('Cuz, you know, inevitably, someone always does.)

Just a heads up: Believe it or not (and yes, I admit that it may, in fact, be hard to believe, no sarcasm intended), we mods and admins do know what threads belong in what forum. So while we greatly appreciate you guys using the "Report Post" function to notify us instead of "playing mod" and telling the topic creator yourself (which is a huge no-no), I don't really need e-mails in my inbox every five minutes that say, "Hey, this thread should go somewhere else!"
If it does, we'll catch it, I assure you. And it very well might not, even if you think it does.
And no, this is me calling out one specific member, by any means. We've just recieved more of these "Reported Posts" than I'm comfortable with. Seriously, I'm stoked that you guys are using the feature and I'm more than happy to serve you in any way that I can, but it'd probably be best if you reported posts that break the rules so I and others can get to them quicker, rather than report posts just to tell us how to do our jobs.

Hey, guys. Due to our (thankfully) growing community, our new forums, etc., we felt the need to bring on two more moderators here at G2G. So after much consideration, we are very pleased to welcome Ransom and Luinnar to the moderation team!
They'll be helping us out a lot with approving posts and general peacekeeping (you know, all the fun stuff we mods and admins get to put up with!), and I think having them onboard will help keep Guide2Games the great place it's been for years. As should be expected, please treat these new mods with respect.
It's kinda like that whole, "The principal is your pal!" lie, only true. They - like all of us - are still just regular guys... Only we can bring the hammer down on you if you misbehave
So watch out, evildoers!
So congrats to Luinnar and Ransom! You get more responsibilities now! Yaaay!

New Feature
I have added a youtube tag
You can find the new tag under the "Insert Special Item" menu.
to use the new tag you will need to go to the you tube video you want to insert and take the last part of the Url http://www.youtube.c...h?v=e26FhQo_2JY and place it between the youtube tags.
