Similar to the 2D Portal comes 2D Mirror's Edge. Still in beta right now with just one level, but it's a great game so far. As good as "N" in terms of physics.

So, every once and a while there's that casual game that is the epitome of casual gameplay. The sort of thing that redefines gaming. That's just so beautiful and wonderful and everything. Auditorium is one of those games. It makes Electroplankton look petty.

That was amazing. Very nice find!

Avoider

The point is to keep your cursor away from the little guy. He'll jump back and forth across the screen, fake you out and launch missiles at it. It's amazingly fun. Try it out.

That's kriffing amazing! The only problem is that since it's not full screen, your mouse will get stcuk in a corner if you get out of the box.

Anybody tried out Don't Look Back yet? It's one of the casual, highly pixelated games that aspires to be art (ala GregoryWeir's work or I Wish I Were the Moon) and it does a great job at it. Check it out.

Host Master, Tim Schafer's new 2D point and click adventure game. Full of Tim Schafer goodness.

Firstly, a belated thumbs up to "don't look back" and "Host Master."

Raider Episode 1. Cool, retro platformer (right down to its difficulty) Pretty interesting story it starts too. It's short, but hopefully the start of several excellent episodes to come.

So, arguably the greatest flash game since Don't Look Back, The Company of Myself. Brilliant game. Go play it. Now.

That's pretty cool. It took a gameplay method from Braid and expanded on it.

Beat the game if you haven't. It's a bit heavy handed, but it does a great job of creating a great story and emotion with a simple puzzle mechanic.

I tried. I couldn't get past... uh, it was one of the later levels. It's a hard game, haha.

This is a very good game. Took me awhile to figure out some of the later levels though.

For fans of visual novels: Air Pressure. A 'relationship' game that will be familiar to many 'dating sim' players, though this one has a very odd twist...there's three endings, the exact nature of the girl is not fully explained. You'll have to deduce it yourself, though I'm pretty confident I got what the creator was shooting for.

I got the "reveal" ending last (I don't know if you always get the reveal ending last, or if it was just the order I did them). It's a solid art-game, and it gets points for nice graphics as well. Really, it's about 5 minutes end to end, and I think everyone should run through this one.

I got that ending first actually, though I didn't really 'get it' until I'd played through a few times, paying attention to what was being said.

This is the best game I've played from the internet.

Unfortunately, you have to download it.

Colton, you have fantastic taste in freeware games. Iji is for the Metroid fan in all of us. The production values are pretty good too. One of my favorites! Way to go Colton. I would have totally forgotten about this gem if you didn't bring it up.
