Any of you guys and gals get this game? I know its an old one, but my DS isn't, and I wanted a classic game...and man oh man, is it frusterating. Did you guys get used to the sloppy controls at all? Without the analog part of it, it's quite difficult. What did you people think of it?

I found using the d-pad easier. I don't think I finished it, but I did not find the controls too bad. Try the d-pad, see if thats better for you :)

I love Super Mario 64, but got rid of my copy of the DS version because I found myself wrestling the controls way too much. Out of all the control options, I liked the D-pad best, but still, there are better games to play.

I got all of the stars (1 and 1/2 times) on Mario 64 DS purely by using the D-pad... But I do tend to be more willing to struggle with controls it seems.

I did certainly feel as if an analog stick would have helped temendously, though. The touch screen method was a nice try, but I could never get used to it.

I never even bothered with the touch screen option. Didn't even consider it with the troubles I had with the D-pad :P

I had it. It was one of my first games. And yes, I used the D-pad. I actually found it not to be that bad. I do want to buy it again sometime, 'cause Mario is just so fun~

The only problem the D-pad caused was the bosses that involved spinning. The fights against Bowser were a bit annoying due to that but everything else was just fine. It's still one of the best DS games out there.

I rather enjoyed it, especially with the few extras that were not in the original. Yeah, the controls were a bit awkward, but you kinda get used to them when you're 50 stars in~
