Now this is how you do viral advertising.

*Warning: Some relatively strong sexual content if you click on the Jack Cola add.*

That's some amazingly dark and cynical stuff right there.

Also, you might want to add a warning; there's some fairly strong sexual content in the Jack Cola advert.

Yeah, Repomen. This is the official site you find if clicking on the Repomen warning.

Odd, the Jack Cola add just buzzes when I hover over it and doesn't open. But the rest of the site (at least what I saw) is fairly harmless.

It looks like it'll be a bit too gruesome for my tastes, but the trailer is just awesome.

Yeah.. I really want to watch that, looks pretty awesome. If you go to the site, there is a restricted trailer, that had all the bad stuff in it..

Oh yeah, and this movie looks flippin sweet.

That...that was awesome beyond description. I really want them to make that an actual movie.

Edit: Oh, and the new Last Airbender and Robin Hood Superbowl trailers can be seen here. Whatever doubts I had about The Last Airbender are slowly disappearing, as that trailer rocked (love the dark-ish look to it).

Definitely cool to see all the different kinds of bending in live action, but I still can't stop being nervous about this movie. It's going to take a lot more than pretty action sequences to sell me.
Also, some guy with really, really good eyes spotted Appa in The Last Airbender spot. You can see him towards the beginning, right in the upper left corner during that pan shot of Aang standing in the middle of the ice (I'd assume that's the North Pole) with the battle going around him. I had sort of expected them to screw with his design, since it's not "cool" enough by today's dark, action movie standards, but fortunately, he seems to look almost exactly like the cartoon version. He's really hard to spot, though. I never would've if one website hadn't made a gif out of it.

Odd, as soon as someone said "upper left corner at 0:09" I saw him right away.

For the record, Ain't It Cool has two reviews of The Last Airbender posted. Well, not really reviews- comments really, from a couple of regular users who claim to have been to a screening of the movie attended by M. Night himself. Normally, I wouldn't believe them, but both give fairly detailed accounts, so it gets some credibility.
Basically, neither review helps much. The first person liked it a lot, and addressed my main concern- the acting. They said that first-time actor Noah Ringer actually carries the lead role well. They also say the action is great, and that the story's nice, and the movie's a fun summer movie overall.
The second review was almost totally opposite. It calls Noah Ringer awful, and says that the acting in general is bad, and that the only people who did well were Cliff Curtis and Dev Patel. The review also said that the worst actor is someone with experience- the guy who plays Zhao, who the review calls unbearably boring, like he's reading his lines as he's saying them. The review, fortunately, said the story was decent, but that the acting just stepped all over it.
Pretty big disconnect between both reviews. Unfortunately, both had one thing in common, and that was that Jackson Rathbone is terrible as Sokka. That bums me out.
So, I'm not sure whether or not to feel relieved. I really want this movie to be good, because if it isn't, we're probably never going to get a decent Avatar movie. Plus, if it does well in the box office, maybe Nickelodeon could be prompted into resurrecting the show. Hey, it's a long shot, but I desperately want it back. There were some loose ends in the finale, for sure.
Time will tell, I guess. At least both reviews said the story was pretty good.

For some reason, I enjoy following MPAA ratings. Mostly because they've become fascinatingly weird.
The official rating for Alice in Wonderland is PG for fantasy action/violence including scary images and situations, and a smoking caterpillar.
I had to share this, mostly because I'm very impressed the MPAA found a reason to use the word "caterpillar" in a movie rating. :P

Uh, may I ask where you saw this? Because as of yet the official MPAA database has no rating for Alice, and the only mention on google is from a very flaky looking twitter page.

I was just browsing IMDB. I didn't much believe it either, so I looked it up. You can see it at the bottom of some interview with Johnny Depp on the movie's website.

Woah, that is mighty odd. Nice find.

Edit: I just realized it's meant to be a caterpillar that's smoking, not a caterpillar on fire. xD

Well, here's some awesome news for comic book fans and movie fans alike-
http://www.deadline....ing-3rd-batman/
The article in summary- Batman 3 is officially happening. Christopher Nolan is on board, and is currently helping to write the script. Additionally, Nolan is apparently taking on some kind of mentor role for a new Superman movie, which is to be a reboot and not a sequel to Returns, though Brandon Routh and Bryan Singer are said not to be written out of the production just yet.
Yeah, awesome news all around.

I wonder who he might have in mind for the villain. I doubt they'd re-cast The Joker, out of respect for Heath Ledger. He's not fond of the old ones, like The Penguin, Catwoman, etc. I guess that's a good thing because I hated The Riddler so that rules him out, although Nolan could probably do a good job with him.

I wasn't that fond of Superman in general, but who knows. This one might be the one to catch my attention.

Nolan's only concern with the villains, I think, is that he doesn't like the unrealistic one. So, he's not interested in The Penguin, but he could conceivably do Catwoman or The Riddler. Personally, I very much hope for the latter; I think he would work great with Nolan's touch. My favorite to play him is still Johnny Depp. Picture a cold, calculating, laid-back Willy Wonka wearing a green tuxedo. In my mind, it just works.
I also once heard someone recommend Steve Buscemi for the role, and it's weird to me how perfect that also seems.

As much as I like watching Batman driving and gliding and punching and kicking, the movies have yet to really show him agonizing over the clues in his role as a detective. The animated series and the comics did a great job highlighting his mystery-solving skills. The Hollywood movies, not so much. I'd gladly welcome any villain who can really put him through the paces like the Riddler does. With the Gotham City Police Department hounding Batman all the time he'd really have to think fast.

Nolan's one of those directors I trust so much that I can say I have absolutely no expectations for this movie other than for him to do his thing. Seriously, whatever Nolan wants to do, I'm game for. He wouldn't be going for it if he didn't think it'd be awesome.

*dies of glee*

For all you who don't believe me, it's the new, long trailer for The Last Airbender. It explains, to non fans of the series, what the point of the story is, and we get to see Zuko, Katara, and Sokka. And the music is absolutely AWESOME.
